Chinese Hate Chinese The Most

It's no secret that Chinese hates Chinese the most, at least that has been the case for as long as Chinese written language in existence, which is blood 8,000 years. The last Empress Dowager Cixi famously stated that she would rather provide for neighbor countries rather than Chinese people.

The Qinghua University in Beijing was set up with a refund of War Indemnity from the United States. Ever since its born, the school had been proud of being a pareration academy for western universities.

In a job ad for faculty positions in Immunology The Qinghua University posted with Nature Magazine, it states that Non-Chinese native candidates are particularly encouraged to apply. This is for positions in Immunology, a field Chinese can not, and must not master.

We invite applications from outstanding immunologists who aim to conduct systematic, innovative research. Non-Chinese native candidates are particularly encouraged to apply (English is an official language in scientific discussions). Candidates should have a demonstrable record of excellence in areas including but not limited to inflammasome, innate lymphocytes, immune memory, human and clinical immunology, microbiota and mucosal immunity, and animal disease models. Successful applicants will be offered very generous start-up packages plus internationally competitive salaries and housing benefits.

What puzzles readers of the magazine is why Nature endorses this kind of language which is discriminative inside out. Although Nature is a British magazine, it has offices in the US. Discrimination based on race and country of origin is textbook case illegal. In other words, Nature risks of being sanctioned by a court of law to label a premier Chinese university of Barbarianism. That makes Nature a racist, too.

Dog See Mother Cooked

A Witness reported a shop owner killed and cooked a pet dog on the sidewalk in front of his shop. The female dog is the mother of the white puppy on the right. The puppy tried to see what happened to his mother, but was kicked away several times. The puppy saw his mother was killed and processed and then cooked from a few yards away. It's possible that the shop owner decided only one dog is needed to watch the shop.

The witness sighed the puppy was like the Chinese people under the communist rule.

The picture was taken in Haizhu District, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province at 1:10 am on March 17, 2012.

How Chinese Law Enforcement Officers Enforcing the Law

A surveillance video camera caught a scene when two Chinese law enforcement officers gave a hotel front desk girl a lesson. youtube, and youtube (same, just in case first one removed by CCP)

One officer of the Law Enforcing Bureau called in to book a room. The officer was annoyed when the girl started taking down his information, because 'everyone should know me'. "I will be there in a minute", he said, and a few minutes later, he came in to beat the girl with stationary, computer screen and chairs. Then more officers rushed in, joining him to fist, kick the girl.

When asked by reporters, the Central Propaganda Department of the CCP responded that there had been worse cases happened in the US.

The video was leaked out recently, though dated 4/20/2011. The incident happened in Hekou District of Dongying City of Shandong Province. After the video went viral on the Internet, one of the officers, Mr. Zhang Zongguo received a warning by the local CCP (DongHeGuang CCP 2011-4). And that was the end of the story.

Chinese Love All US Presidents

It is interesting to see the fact that each and every one of US Presidents are adored by Chinese in China, regardless of their domestic image.

Perhaps, Chinese had been so heartbroken by their own leaders.

The Emperor Revealed His New Clothes

The Ministry of Treasure released data on number of Chinese tax payers in the discussion of adjusting exemption level. According to the data, by increasing the level from CNY 2,000 to CNY 3,500, the population of personal incoming tax paying Chinese decreases from 84 million to 24 million.

The number of merely 24 million Chinese earned more than CNY 3,500 cams as a shock to some observers. In recently years, Chinese has been known as big spenders in the western world. They raised up housing price in Canada and often clear entire store of luxurious goods on vacation. The number is certainly at odds with the spending power demonstrated by Chinese tourists.

Asian Students Discriminated in College Admission

Ouyang Feng discussed the odds for an Asian student to get in college in his blog.

By examining admission data of 10 top colleges, including private, public, research universities and liberal arts colleges, a student with Asian heritage has only 0.19 chance to get admitted comparing to a white student. The disadvanrage has been aggrevated in the past 20 years, while the odds continuously kept dropping.

A book 'No longer seperate not necessarily equal: Race and Class in Elite College Admission and Campus Life' authored by Thomas J. Espenshade and others was cited in the blog. The book also dispute a myth on Asian students' leadership capability. Studies showed Asian students were on par as, in not better than, white students in terms of leadership.

Who is Liu Xiaobo and Why Less is More

2010 Nobel Peace Laureate Liu Xiaobo highlighted the Chinese communist government's heavy hand approach on political dissidents. Liu is serving a 17 years jail.

However, it might be a little bit misleading because the favored strategy on political dissidents is, actually, deportation to western countries. The government had come to the conclusion that once a democratic advocate is removed from the country, so will be his influence and reputation. The government will be able to paint the person as coward and clown since they would be afraid to return to the home country that they had claimed they loved.

In addition, the communist government was not worried about those radical democratic campaigns. Its propaganda branch does a shabby job overall, but just good enough to make most people believe China will definitely fall to chaos without the Party's totalitarian leadership.

Liu is different from most other democratic activists in China. He is sometimes seen as really to take comprised deal and happy for tiny steps towards 'freer' society. During the democratic movement in 1989 and right before the Tian'anmen Massacre took place, Liu tried persuading students back off to avoid clash with the People's Liberation Army. Surviving the massacre, Liu did not attempt to flee the country as many other celebrities did, but rather surrendered to the authorities and served long time jailing time. He was put under house arrest after being released, and went to jail another couple of times before sentenced to 17 years last year. On the other hand, Liu never gave up fighting for his country and his people by writing articles, even during his house arrest. Liu is a calm observer and never step out of line. Liu advocate for materialize whatever the communists regime had promised rather than pushing for political changes. This made Liu a most dangerous enemy of the State, because many agree with his thoughts.

The smoking gun which led to Liu's most recent arrest and 17 years jail time was a document entitled 'Charter 2008'. It's something like a petition to the government for recognition of most fundamental elements of human rights. Hundreds of notable scholars co-signed the document/letter, which was drafted by Liu. Again, the document was dangerous, because it formally asks for what had been promised publicly and repeatedly by the regime. Well, it asks for less than 1 percent of what had been promised and asks for a recognition that not even 1 percent of what had been promised were in place. Some overseas Chinese dissidents opposed Liu's award, accusing him of being "too soft". However, Liu's power comes from being soft, and he knew the mighty and took the consequence.

It's a good decision made by the Nobel Peace Committee. We hope the monetary award may help improve Liu's family living condition. His wife has been steadfastly supportive of Liu's sacrifice for the country, and she looks very exhausted.

The reflection in China are bimodal. The online community overwhelmingly hailed the news, while most of off-line population did not know, did not care.

There are two Nobel Laureates were born in the city of Changchun, Jilin Province in the year of 2010. Japanese citizen Ei-ichi Negishi who was born in Chaungchun in 1931 shared the Nobel Prize in Chemistry with two other collaborators.

This Side that Side

* Johns Hopkins University started need-blind admission, and it is a good news for Chinese.  As a matter of fact, any-blindness regardless is a good news for Chinese because they have been targeted in every twisted fashion in college admission.  If a white student need to achieve 80% to be admitted to a university T, then a Chinese with similar background will have to exceed 90% to get in.  Of course Blacks or Latinos are totally different stories, but although White people cry foul the most often, Asian are the real victim.  Yeah, we like being blind.

* Hangzhou Youth reported that an entire bus-full of people fled the scene when one old lady fell, somehow, when the driver braked for a pedestrian crossing the road.  The old lady got a bruise on her head but was otherwise okay.  They were good people, to be clear, as some had offer the old lady their seats.  The old lady thanked them but stayed standing near the door because she only had one stop ahead.

Thanks to the Calabash Monk case in Nanjing three years ago, all Chinese are fleeing away and refused to offer help to others, especially to old ladies.  The communist judge famously questioned the defendant Peng Yu, who helped an old lady, why did you help her if you didn't caused her fell down? Peng was sentenced to pay a fortune to the lady, even though he claimed innocent, and he had many witnesses and a surveillance camera to back up.  The old lady, on the other hand, had a son who was a communist official in a powerful unit.

Indian Doctor Executed by a Chinese Doctor

Dr. Wang took justice in his own hands and drove 1000 miles to shot an Indian doctor. It made headline news.

What did not make headline, although they do appeared online WSJ:

She rediculously answered that she was in the elevator first. Meanwhile her dog was still jumping on my shopping bag. Anyway I got to my floor and hold the door to tell her that she better shorten her leash and control her dog in the future, incredibly she shouted “Get out, psycho!” certainly I called back. But what’s funny and dramatically was after I complained to the condo management it “concluded” that I was more at fault, basically ignoring the fact she provoked and she initiated name calling. Now I was perceived as overreacting, using vogue language while my son around. I don’t know how she managed to achieve that with the people. Luckily that it was not a case and no judge would be cherry-picking testimonies without being tested. The condo management even told me that she was now scared of me. What the heck is that? She seems to be the victim now, lol.

I guess I should have just pretended of hearing mad dog barking in the first place, surely I will avoid dealing with them to avoid all the fuss. Overall I guess some people have made their own country in such a mess with those charactors, now they are mess with other people. Apparently, if he filed a lawsuit claiming that he was harrassed by Indian doctors- this set him off. I can tell you that working in a hospital, some of Indian doc's are totally disrespectful and I have seen them lie against other doctors who are not Indian. I would like to what lied about in this guy's case

Does the caste system have anything to do with how the Indian doctors disrespect other people?

  • As a matter of fact, Dr. Wang did pursue legal venues first by filing discrimination (by Indian administration to Chinese fellows) complaint first to the Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center (EEOC No. 520-2008-04172) where both him and the Indian doctor was employed, and then to the court (District Court, Eastern District of New York, 1:09-03236-JG-SMG). The hospital dismissed the discrimination case, using the logic that since that 50% of their doctors are from Indian, they won't discriminate against Chinese.

What kind of logic is that, by the way?

    Katyn

President of Poland died in a crashing landing en route to a ceremony of 70 years anniversaries of Katyn. Also died, General Chief of Staff, and commanders of Polish Army, Navy and Air Forces.

Retrospective looking, people die in wars, and soldiers die faster. However, rarely had a occupying country attempted to wipe out the entire elite class of the occupied land all together indistinguishably. Even Japanese who took no regard of human life and dignity, had some appreciation of culture and art.

The only other occurrences of these kind of mass elimination only happened by Communists Russians to Russians, Communists Chinese to Chinese and Communists Cambodians to Cambodians.

Probably Polish shouldn't hate Russian people, because Russian People had suffered far more themselves before and after Katyn.

    Who is Han Han?

Hanhan is a young man born in Shanghai. His career is a race car driver, the best or one of the best in China. However, he made his name when he was a teenager, when he published his first novel (and dropped out of high school).

His top notch racing and novel writing career was overshadowed by his blog writing hobby, which made him a spiritual idol for many Chinese. He has been bold in scolding corrupted officials and ridiculing Party policies. And so far, his otherwise 'sharp' criticism has been tolerated by the communism regime. Although his blogs are often deleted, it was not clear whether the instruction was from the top of the Propaganda Ministry, or a victim of overzealous lower level network police. Han Han makes painstaking efforts to make sure his words are not provoking or inciting any actions.

Han's tranquil life style is being threatened by a Time Magazine survey of Time 100 of 2010. Only three persons from China are listed as candidates of 201. In additional to Han, other Chinese are Party Boss of Chongqing, jailed intellectual Liu Xiaobo and CEO of a Chinese search engine.

Han was not surprised by the nomination, but commented that he was not 'influential' in China at all. Han said, he was but a insignificant role with a small voice on the big stage of modern China. When hit by the spotlight, audiences see him. Taking the spot light away, no body would notice. Any Party members in China, 80 million strong, or any government officials would have deeper and more lasting impact to Chinese people. He must be right.

Universities in Taiwan to recruit students from the mainland

Vice Education Minister Lin Chung-ming announced 40 mainland universities from the mainland were put on a list that students of which can apply to Taiwan Universities.

The effectives of the measure will be yet to see. Usually in mainland, students with highest grades go to the US; second tiers go to the other western countries such as Canada and England; third tier students go to Hong Kong and Japan; fourth tiers go to south eastern Asian countries and Pacific countries. Taiwan universities will have a hard time competing with counterparts in Hong Kong, a prosperous and energetic city connected to the mainland by land.

To easy local concerns of political influence and employment pressure, the Education Ministry of Taiwan set strict limits on the project. Only students from 40 pre-approved mainland universities are allowed to apply, and the total annual inflow is set to 2,000. These students will not be allowed to stay after their graduation.

Some locals have expectation for the mainland students to shake up the Taiwan college education system, "you only hae to put a few students from Beijing or Qinghua University in classrooms to deter local students from dozing off or snacking," said a local writer Kao Hsi-chun.

The Taiwan Education Ministry is also considering recognizing diplomas from the above 40 (some sources use the number of 41) mainland universities. While more Taiwan students go to college in mainland, they have been placing higher pressure on the Taiwan government to recognize their degrees obtained from mainland universities. The number '41' is set by including 39 '985 project' universities, with the only exception of the National University of Defense Technology, plus Beijing Sports University, Central Conservatory of Music and China Central Academy of Fine Arts. It is not clear about the composition of '40'.

    East West Education

Korean government had its hand on another social target. This time, it tried to set a curfew of 10:00 pm for cram schools in Korea. Usually they would go beyond 11:00 pm, and sometimes even over the midnight line. Koreans are not known for hard working, at least not as Japanese students. However, New York Times (Losing an Edge, Japanese Envy India’s Schools) reported that Japanese parents felt Japanese students are not hard working enough yet, so they hired Indian teachers to teach their kids. Now, Japanese toddlers under Indian teachers are learning calculus in kindergartens.

The US has been getting away from its crappy public school system by harvesting talents from all over the world with lucrative financial support in graduate schools. Most of these foreign students stay in the US because of job opportunities. For example, the Washington Post article (U.S. Colleges Bask in Surge Of Interest Among Chinese) reported a uprising influx from Chinese high school graduates to apply for US colleges. Year 2008 saw a nearly double increment in US undergraduate enrollment of students from mainland China, from 9,000 in 2007 to 16,000 in 2008. The problem, it's unlikely they will stay this time, unlike what has been the case for decades. On one hand, the US is struggling with sky rocket unemployment rate, and politicians are making policies to make more jobs for US citizens by kicking out more foreign high tech workers. On the other hand, Asian countries are enjoying a more robust economic growth and flourishing career opportunities. It was reported that almost all 50 some member of the graduate class of Chinese students in the Duke MBA program this year are leaving to China. Taking away with them are the knowledge and experiences that they would need to fence off their US classmates in the real world in the years to come.

New Official Account of The China's Great Famine

Yuan Longping told reporters of Guangzhou Daily 40 to 50 millions of Chinese starved to death in the Great Famine in the year of 1959. Yuan revealed the figure when he was interviewed for national food safety situation.

Many figures had been suggested by independent researchers on exactly how many Chinese was killed by the Great Famine. One most cited study derived from population variations estimated around 36 millions Chinese were starved to death from 1959 to 1962, following the failed Great Leap Forward in 1958. The official number had been somewhere from 10 thousands to 100 thousands. This is the first time ever the 'official' number was close to those based on independent studies. The subject has been a taboo because it is believed the cause of the famine was not natural disasters but police mistakes of the CCP.

Mr. Yuan is an agricultural expert, an academician, and the top scientist of China.

    Applications from China Grow

According to a report of the Council of Graduate Schools, Chinese applications jump 16% over last year, despite a slowing down global economy. The overall applications number grows a mere 3%. However, the applications from India and South Korea declined by 9% and 7%, respectively. China, India and South Korea sent most graduate students to the US.

More applications are going to universities with higher concentration of existing international students populations. The top ten universities of international students see an increase of 7%, while those below 100th in this ranking see a drop of 4%.

A Changing Landscape in Taiwan Residents' Self Identity

According to a recent survey conducted in Taiwan, comparing to 12 years ago, more people in Taiwan consider themselves Taiwanese, rather than Chinese.

The items in the chart are, from top to bottom:

  • You consider yourself a Taiwanese;
  • You consider yourself a Taiwanese and a Chinese;
  • You consider yourself a Chinese;
  • A Taiwanese is a Chinese

  • The orange bar represents numbers in 1997 while the blue bars represents numbers in 2009. Taiwan calendar starts in 1911, when the Republic of China (ROC) was founded in Nanjing. It is noted that 'Chinese' as quoted is not the same as citizen of the People's Republic of China.

The rapid changing self identity landscape can be read as a result of political wrangling between two parties. The KMD who historically rely on people originally from the mainland, while the PPD who make itself known by pushing towards an independent country detached from the mainland. Taiwan is one of few places in the world that in very recent years to create an ethic group purely by residency. Both parties count on votes of people who do not agree on the other party's ethnic policy. During the ruling of PPD from 2000 to 2008, more Taiwan people are steered by the politics towards labeling themselves mainstream, Taiwanese.

On the other hand, for many years since the overturn of ROC in 1949 in mainland, people in Taiwan has been fed of the idea that people in the mainland are suffering from the communist ruling, and that people in Taiwan had the moral obligation to rescue folks in mainland. Taiwan had been actively pursuing military assault of mainland until it's obviously that the mainland gained upper hand. Subsequently Taiwan has been worried about being invaded by the mainland, and increasingly sees the mainland a threat. Declaring independence leaves the mainland with one less reason to pursue the unification by force.

The population composition is changing too. Many people originally from mainland before 1949 are dying. In general people from mainland have better education as well as means and ways. Their offspring are more likely to have left Taiwan to US or Japan.

    Dartmouth Students Demand "Buy American"

Dartmouth Student Media GGMM protested against the College's decision to name an Asian President. A daily community news service composed by a staff writer of Generic Good Morning Message (GGMM) questioned the appointment, and asked the college to 'Buy American', a strategy to pull the US out of the current economic slowdown painted out by President Barack Hussein Obama. The inspiring message was sent to the Dartmouth community on March 3, 2009 after the College appointed an Asian American President, following the suit of the United States and the Grand Ole Party (to name a non-Caucasian leadership for the first time in history):

    Subject: Good Morning

This is the Generic Good Morning Message for March 3, 2009.

Yesterday came the announcement that President of the College James Wright will be replaced by Chinaman Kim Jim Yong. And a little bit of me died inside.

    It was a complete supplies.

On July 1, yet another hard-working American's job will be taken by an immigrant willing to work in substandard conditions at near-subsistent wage, saving half his money and sending the rest home to his village in the form of traveler's checks. Unless "Jim Yong Kim" means "I love Freedom" in Chinese, I don't want anything to do with him. Dartmouth is America, not Panda Garden Rice Village Restaurant.

Y'all get ready for an Asianification under the guise of diversity under the actual Malaysian-invasion leadership instituted under the guise of diversity. It's a slippery slope we are on. I for one want Democracy and apple pie, not Charlie Chan and the Curse of the Dragon Queen. I know I sure as shit won't ever be eating my Hop dubs bubs with chopsticks. I like to use my own two American hands.

We can understand that all Colored people look alike in their group in American eyes. That's probably how Micheal Steel was tapped to head the Republican Party. Either the party members can't tell Michael from Obama, or they were count on ordinary Americans can't tell. Anyway, Dr. Kim may just look like another yellow man. However, as a privileged person who can actually tell, let me tell you, American, Dr. Kim is not a Chinese. So dear Dartmouth community, next time when you were about to set Dr. Kim on fire, please fuck off the Chinese reference because that is be an insult for a Korean, whom Dr. Kim really is!

Update: Despite the enthusiastic support poured from the entire Dartmouth community, the College and the GGMM decided that the staff writer would keep anonymous, citing 'diversification' considerations. It is only known that the hero who actually placed the message on the server is a GGMM staff writer Jack McNeilly, traced by his EMail address. However, any connection between Jack and the writer would be an unregulated stretch of imagination.

Update: Students and alumni at the Harvard University, Dr. Kim's previous employer, applauded the courage demonstrated by Dartmouth neighbors. The Board of Trustee of Harvard University had passed a motion to mandate a Caucasian replacement for the position left by Dr. Kim.
