It IS the People They are Talking About

While CNN clarified that when they said Chinese were 'Goons' on air on April 9, 2008, they actually meant the government, rather than the people. They refused to answer the demand from overseas Chinese for an apology because it's justifiable to call on a communism government Goons according to the manual of conduct code used by mainstream media in the US. However, the TIME Magazine, another branch of the Time Warner Group, just reconfirmed that they did, actually, mean the people.

In the April 21, 2008 issue of the TIME Magazine, NUMBERS column on page 22, it said when refer to Made-In-china Crocs, '..Chinese-made Crocs being sold to Palestinians'. TIME went extra miles to tell the world, the TIME Warners Group did mean, however, Chinese, when they used the world 'Chinese'.

Cheap TIME

On page 22 of the June 11, 2007 issue of the TIME magazine, there's the 'Numbers' column as usual. Read on, a subtitle: PRODUCT SAFETY in red, where you first see a bold black number of 20% for the estimated percentage of Chinese-made toys that are blow standards, and then the $5.79 billion, value of Chinese toys sold to the U.S. in 2005.

What makes TIME cheap is that this is two irrelevant information putting together to make you think of something that does not exist. Anyone familiar with the Chinese toy expert, and any Chinese goods export to the US know the fact that product for export were build on different line, with different materials, following different standards. That's the reason rich Chinese are buying from the US, from luxuries to cheap daily consumer products, because you can buy them in China even with money. Comparing the quality of products in China, and those imported from China are like suggesting Saddam has something to do with the World Trade Center: easy to get applause, cheap politics indeed.

Stereotype Reactions

TIME Magazine ran a cover story 'China: Dawn of a New Dynasty' in their Jan 22, 2007 publication.

As expected, you got to read the stereotyped reactions in the 'Letters' session in the following up Feb 5, 2007 issue: there is the Michigan house wife who vowed stop buying made-in-China products protesting a disgusting lack of regard for the value of human life; there is the African named Tshilidzi Marwala who defended China's positive involvement in Africa's development, and there's the smartass medical student Kou Qin of Augusta, Georgia who concluded that 'China's leaders must be made to understand that democratic reforms are urgently needed'.
